Bracket Racing & Club Championships 2024

Excitng news!

Shannons Bracket Racing & Preston Club Championship Series 2024

This year, the Preston MCC have moved away from the Victorian Interclub Road Racing Series to focus on continuing to build our membership community. We have brought our club championship series back to life, in a combine format with Bracket Racing, to be held over four rounds at the Broadford Road race Circuit.

We are excited to be trying something different, and getting back to grassroots racing with our all new Preston Club Championship Series. The Club Championship races will be independent of Bracket Races, and held over 8 x 8 lap races, over four rounds.

We have limited our categories and loaded each event for each class, with 2 x qualifying sessions, 3 x 6 lap Bracket races and 2 x 8 lap club championship races for each category. We will have club championship classes to cater for Superbike, Supersport and Limited Sport (upto 500cc).

We are thrilled to announce a new partnership to support grass roots racers into the 2024 Shannons Bracket Racing and Preston Motorcycle Club Championships, now known as the “Race Center Preston Club Championships”

The team have jumped on board and will be awarding prize vouchers for the superbike club podium getters at every round.

What is Bracket Racing?

Ever thought about moving up from track days and going racing with your mates?
It doesn’t matter if you are a novice, or an advanced rider, Bracket Racing is open to all eligible bikes and racers. Bracket racing is a form of racing where competitors are grouped into brackets according to their lap times, and not by the class of bike they are riding. This form of racing provides a very enjoyable and low cost form of racing.

What do I need to do to prepare my bike?
Your bike will need to conform with the requirements of road racing as per the GCR’s, such as lock wiring, removal of stands and glass etc. Preston members will be able to help you with your bike preparation if you are unsure how to do it. There is a handy prep guide below for those new to racing.

What do I need for protective clothing?
You will need full leathers 1 or 2 piece that zips together as well as the usual requirements of back protector, gloves, boots and helmet that comply with the GCR’s.

To enter you will need to be a member of the Preston MCC and hold an MA race licence or purchase a 1 day competition licence.

What are you waiting for? Grab your mates and get racing!
